Job summary

Weir in Port Elizabeth is seeking a Shift Leader: Production to drive daily scheduling and performance across engineering, manufacturing and mining environments. You will lead a team, ensure high schedule adherence, and report delays with decisive action while upholding our safety culture.

The role requires a National Diploma with at least two years of related experience and strong problem-solving and computer literacy.

Qualifications

• National diploma completed.
• Minimum of two years of related experience in engineering, manufacturing, mining or related environment.
• Ability to lead a team.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Responsibilities

• Daily scheduling of production activities for maximizing production, quality / output KPI’s and on time deliveries.
• Report any and all delays in achieving daily targets, machine breakdowns and deliveries and take action where targets are not met.
• Ensuring schedule adherence is consistently above 95%.
• Performance manage subordinates who do not meet the targets.
• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
