Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Operator Control Room (With B Cert) to be placed in Tharisa Mine. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor Control Room and will be responsible for effective control room operations to meet daily production targets.

The role requires Grade 12/NQF4, a valid Blasting Certificate, and strong numerical and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 with Mathematics & Science is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic office software.
• Exposure to digital production control systems is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Operate and monitor underground control room systems to meet daily production targets.
• Oversee services and infrastructure during shifts (water, pumps, fans, conveyors).
• Assist and supervise Control Room Assistants (site-specific).
• Report outages and coordinate communications to users per notification process.
• Record standing hours and outages; escalate anomalies to Supervisor.
• Maintain control room housekeeping and system functionality.

Cementation Africa invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Operator Control Room (With B Cert) to be placed in Tharisa Mine. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor Control Room.The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates.Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Effective execution of control room operations to ensure daily production targets are met
• Effective monitoring and control of all services and infrastructure during a shift e.g. portable water supply for underground use, pumps, fans, conveyor belts etc.
• Assist with / supervise the daily activities of the Control Room Assistants [site specific]
• Report system malfunctions immediately and lead communications to advise system users of outages and progress as per predetermined notification process
• Accurate recording of standing hours and outage times, elevate anomalies to Supervisor
• Apply appropriate stand by and/or call out procedures
• Compile reports as requested by Supervisor
• Maintain and operate the control room systems / functions to quality standards
• Maintain good control room housekeeping standards
• Effective team and self-management in alignment with Cementation Africa's values
• Effective risk identification and mitigation within the respective legislative frameworks, quality standards, policies and procedures, elevate and report accordingly

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent (with Mathematics & Science)
• Valid Blasting Certificate
• Numerical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Excel
• Exposure to digital production control systems [preferred]
• Good English written and verbal communication skills
• Valid Medical certificate of Fitness

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience

• At least 4 years of experience in trackless underground mining or in a similar mining environment
• At least 3 years of experience as a Control Room Assistant [preferred]
