Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee key production lines at a Bloemfontein, Free State facility. You will lead a team of production operators, manage daily operations, and drive improvements to ensure safe, high-quality consumer goods production.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in a supervisory role within food & beverage manufacturing, a qualification in Food Technology or Operations Management, and a working knowledge of HACCP and GMP.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in Food Technology or Operations Management.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory or team-lead role in food & beverage manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of food manufacturing, quality control, HACCP and GMP.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate production staff.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of production operators and line teams to meet production schedules and targets.
• Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and quality standards (HACCP, GMP).
• Monitor production processes, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and development to the production team.
• Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and procedures.
• Oversee the efficient use of raw materials and minimize waste.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, performance updates, and safety information.

The successful candidate will lead a team of production operators, manage daily operations, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
