Job summary

Staff Solutions is seeking an experienced operations leader to assume responsibility for Plant 2 as a satellite plant to Plant 1 in South Africa. This role focuses on managing all production functions to meet safety, quality, and production targets while overseeing support functions to achieve cost objectives.

The successful candidate will drive shop-floor routines in a high-tonnage press shop, ensure adequate resources, and manage a team across multi-tier structures and shifts.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years’ quality background within the automotive industry.
• Minimum 10 years’ Press Shop experience with high-tonnage presses.
• Minimum 10 years’ supervisory experience in Tier 1 automotive.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in tool and jig manufacturing or maintenance.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience engaging with a demanding OEM customer.
• Knowledge of project management, tool approval and commissioning processes.
• Experience across Planning, Logistics, Quality, Production, Maintenance, Process Engineering.
• Lean mindset with focus on efficiency improvements.
• Multi-tier organisational structure across shifts.

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in Operations Management, Technology Management, Engineering, or Production Management


• Minimum of 5 years’ quality background within the automotive industry


• Minimum of 10 years’ Press Shop experience, including relevant press technology for car body surface and structural components (High-tonnage mechanical presses)


• Minimum of 10 years’ supervisory experience in the Tier 1 automotive industry


• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in tool and jig manufacturing or maintenance


• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engaging and managing a very demanding OEM customer


• Knowledge of new project management, particularly regarding tool approval and commissioning processes


• Demonstrated experience in all of the core operational roles (Planning, Logistics, Quality, Production, Maintenance, Process Engineering)


• A lean mindset with key focus on efficiency improvements


• Must have management an org. structure that consists of multi-tiers, across shifts.
