Job summary

Green Marble Recruitment Consultants is seeking a Production Planner for our client in Gauteng. You will develop and manage production plans, schedule work, and ensure on-time delivery while coordinating with Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Finance.

The role requires 2–3 years in manufacturing and strong Excel skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and ISO standard compliance. Automotive experience is a plus, and you will lead and develop the team to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Production Management, Production Planning or Operations Management.
• 2–3 years manufacturing and production planning experience.
• Production planning and scheduling experience.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience with time studies and line balancing.
• Experience in people and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of production processes and workflow management.
• Experience with production documentation and reporting.

• Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet production targets and customer deadlines.
• Create, monitor and manage job cards, work instructions and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Purchasing and Finance to optimise labour, materials and inventory flow.
• Set daily production objectives and communicate targets to operators.
• Organise workflow, allocate responsibilities and monitor production progress.
• Assist the Operations Manager with production planning to minimise downtime and maximise output.
• Obtain production requirements and future commitments from Sales to support planning.
• Prepare weekly and monthly production reports and forecasts.
• Ensure accurate material management by job.
• Supervise and manage production staff and operator activities.
• Provide guidance, training and performance feedback to production employees.
• Develop team capability through training, upskilling and multi-skilling initiatives.
• Maintain and update the production skills matrix.
• Motivate the team to achieve production and performance targets.
• Communicate production goals, expectations and updates to staff and management.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and the company’s quality management system.
• Ensure safety procedures and regulations are followed throughout the workshop.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Investigate production problems and elevate technical issues to Engineering.
• Ensure vehicle fitments are completed according to work and fitment instructions.
• Ensure production processes meet quality and industry standards.
• Maintain 5S standards across the workshop, equipment and vehicles.
• Implement Smooth Flow principles to improve the movement of labour and materials.
