Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks a seasoned operations leader to oversee all industrial activities in a Pretoria-based facility. You will guide Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and Operations to achieve budgeted KPIs and reinforce 5S, safety and productivity.

Your role includes industrializing new products with cross-functional teams and aligning capacity with customer demand. You will drive continuous improvement, manage staffing and leverage data-driven insights to optimize cost,

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of manufacturing-related experience with hands-on operational knowledge.
• Bachelor degree in industrial, mechanical, production engineering or similar.
• MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Commercial customer experience is a plus.
• Experience in the Automotive Industry.
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience of manufacturing operations in tooling, stamping, and/or welded assembly.
• Experience in an organization with a strong Safety Culture; Hygiene & Safety mindset.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction and proactive problem solving.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing concepts and techniques (kaizen, FMEA, PM Systems, tooling, material flow, pull systems, SPC).
• Strong aptitude in organizational discipline, project management and data interpretation.
• Deep knowledge of PDCA, 8D, 5why's.

Responsibilities

• Main responsible for all industrial operations: leadership of Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and Operations.
• Reach KPI targets defined on budget in industrial operations.
• Ensure 5S performance in all industrial areas.
• Meet OEEs (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) targets defined.
• Ensure client satisfaction on part delivery, quality and deadlines.
• Industrialization of new products with cost, time and process capability alongside Project Manager.
• Assess daily customer sales input to determine direct and indirect manpower requirements.
• Review weekly production schedules to meet customer requirements and budgets/forecasts.
• Review processing schedules and production orders to determine staffing and procedures.
• Collaborate with staff to resolve production or processing problems.
• Assign tasks to develop plans for efficient management of materials, machines and personnel.
• Pursue continuous improvements in safety, quality and productivity.
• Implement HR Plan Director and Health, Safety and Environment directives across operations.
• Define performance expectations and goals for subordinates and sector areas.

• Industrialization of new products assuring cost, time and process capability together with Project Manager
• Check on a daily basis the costumers sales input in order to determine direct and indirect manpower requirements to assure production targets efficiency
• Reviews weekly production schedules to meet customer requirements and internal Budget/forecast targets
• Reviews processing schedules and production orders to determine staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments
• Reviews operations and confers with technical and/or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
• Assigns tasks for develop plans for efficient management of materials, machines, and associates, according to policies, procedures, norms, legal regulations
• Continuously looking for improvements in safety, quality and productivity.
• Assigns tasks for implementing continuous improvements and monitors them based on safety, cost of quality and productivity
• Assure the implementation of HR Plan Director and Health, Safety and Environment Director Plan in all industrial operations
