Job summary

Green Marble Recruitment Consultants is seeking a Production Planning/Operations professional to develop and implement production plans and schedules, ensuring targets and deadlines are met. You will create and manage job cards, and coordinate with Supply Chain, Purchasing and Finance to optimize labour, materials and inventory flow.

You will lead, train and evaluate production staff, drive continuous improvement, and prepare weekly/monthly forecasts while maintaining ISO standards and safety

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Production Management, Production Planning or Operations Management.
• Experience in manufacturing and production planning.
• Experience in production documentation and reporting.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Automotive experience will be advantageous.
• Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 will be advantageous.
• Experience with 5S and continuous improvement principles will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet production targets and customer deadlines.
• Create, monitor and manage job cards, work instructions and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Purchasing and Finance to optimise labour, materials and inventory flow.
• Set daily production objectives and communicate targets to operators.
• Organise workflow, allocate responsibilities and monitor production progress.
• Assist the Operations Manager with production planning to minimise downtime and maximise output.
• Obtain production requirements and future commitments from Sales to support planning.
• Prepare weekly and monthly production reports and forecasts.
• Ensure accurate material management by job.
• Supervise and manage production staff and operator activities.
• Provide guidance, training and performance feedback to production employees.
• Develop team capability through training, upskilling and multi-skilling initiatives.
• Maintain and update the production skills matrix.
• Motivate the team to achieve production and performance targets.
• Communicate production goals, expectations and updates to staff and management.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and the company’s quality management system.
• Ensure safety procedures and regulations are followed throughout the workshop.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Investigate production problems and investigate technical issues to Engineering.
• Ensure vehicle fitments are completed according to work and fitment instructions.
• Ensure production processes meet quality and industry standards.
• Maintain 5S standards across the workshop, equipment and vehicles.
• Implement Smooth Flow principles to improve the movement of labour and materials.

• 2 – 3 years’ manufacturing and production planning experience.


• Production planning and scheduling experience.


• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.


• Experience with time studies and line balancing.


• Experience in people and performance management.


• Strong knowledge of production processes and workflow management.


• Experience with production documentation and reporting.


• Strong organisational and time management skills.


• Automotive experience will be advantageous.
