Job summary

RMG Recruitment (Pty) Ltd is seeking a senior operations leader to take primary responsibility for the Press Part Manufacturing plant. You will oversee Plant 2 as a satellite to Plant 1, drive production targets, and ensure safety, quality and cost efficiency across all functions.

The role requires extensive experience in automotive press shops, multi-shift leadership, and a proven track record with OEM customers. You will lead lean improvements and ensure resources meet demand.

Qualifications

• ND in Operations Management, Technology Management, Engineering or Production Management is required.
• Minimum 5 years’ quality background in the automotive industry.
• Minimum 10 years’ Press Shop experience with high-tonnage presses.
• Minimum 10 years’ supervisory experience in Tier 1 automotive.
• Minimum 2 years’ tool/jig manufacturing or maintenance experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a demanding OEM customer.
• Knowledge of project management, tool approval and commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the operational management of Plant 2 as a satellite plant to Plant 1.
• Manage all production functions to meet safety, quality, and production targets.
• Oversee all support functions to achieve safety, quality, production and cost goals.
• Drive shop-floor routines that are key success factors in a press shop.
• Ensure adequate resources are available for operations.
• Manage the performance of subordinates.
