Placements24 is hiring an experienced Operations Manager for a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on lean manufacturing, process optimization, safety, and driving productivity.

You will oversee production from raw materials to finished goods, manage budgets, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and lead a diverse team of engineers and operators in a fast-paced plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations Management.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations management.
• Proven lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
• Strong production planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control costs.
• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal production output and efficiency.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Manage plant budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Lead and motivate a diverse team of production staff, supervisors, and engineers.
• Implement and champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage inventory levels, supply chain logistics, and vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality control departments to resolve production issues.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout the plant.
