Job summary

ER24 Western Cape - North is seeking an Ambulance Emergency Assistant to respond to emergency calls and provide intermediate medical care within scope of practice. The role is on-site in Bellville, Cape Town, with a permanent, full-time arrangement and a closing date of 16 September 2026.

The ideal candidate holds an Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care and has at least 1 year EMS experience; additional familiarity with Clinical Practice

Qualifications

• Essential: Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care.
• Desirable: Training related to Clinical Practice Guidelines by the HPCSA; if not compliant, training during probation if successful.
• Aims to ensure alignment with scope of practice and clinical standards.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or Higher certificate in Emergency Medical Care

DESIRED EDUCATION: Successful completion of training related to Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa will be advantageous. If not compliant with the clinical practice guidelines at the time of application you will be required to complete this training during your probation period if successful in your application

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 1 year EMS experience

DESIRED EXPERIENCE : 1 year ILS experience

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Proficiency in the English language (written and verbal)
