Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mine Surveyor to join our client’s team in Tembisa, Gauteng. The role focuses on accurate spatial data collection for open-pit mining, involving surveys, volume calculations, and data support for mine planning and safety.

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma or Bachelor's in Surveying with at least 5 years' experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, and Minex, and a commitment to safety and field excellence.

Qualifications

  • National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Mine Surveying.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in open-pit operations.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, Minex).
  • Experience with digital terrain modeling and volume calculations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work in challenging field conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct topographic and volumetric surveys of mine sites, including open pits, stockpiles, and infrastructure.
  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, and laser scanners.
