Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of open pit mine planning and design experience.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac or similar software.
• Solid understanding of open pit mining methods, equipment, and operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and spatial reasoning skills.
• Effective communication across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize short, medium, and long-term open pit mine plans using specialized software.
• Conduct pit design, sequencing, and scheduling to maximize resource recovery and minimize waste.
• Collaborate with geologists to integrate resource models into mine plans and optimize grade control.
• Work with operations to ensure plans are practical, safe, and achievable, considering equipment capabilities and constraints.
• Perform economic evaluations of mine plans and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and graphical outputs for mine planning reviews and decision-making.
• Monitor plan execution and update plans based on geological and operational feedback.
