Job summary

Weir Minerals in Isando is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team across facilities, infrastructure and critical systems. You will implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while managing budgets and CAPEX.

The role requires GCC certification, GMR 2.1 competency and 5–10 years of multidisciplinary maintenance leadership in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related Engineering or qualification with significant maintenance management experience.
• A valid GCC is required.
• GMR 2.1 competency and appointment as required by current legislation.
• 5–10 years’ experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams in industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Proven maintenance strategy, compliance and contractor management expertise.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and safety-focused communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the maintenance team with clear performance expectations.
• Oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance across buildings, systems and equipment.
• Manage CAPEX, budgets, spares, and procurement in line with safety standards.
• Plan and execute maintenance plans aligned with operational goals and KPIs.
• Ensure legal and safety compliance and stakeholder liaison.
• Coordinate contractors and ensure timely project delivery with minimal disruption.
