Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion seeks a hands-on Drilling Engineer to oversee onshore drilling operations in Gauteng. You will plan, execute, and supervise drilling programs, ensuring safety, efficiency and cost control while coordinating with rig crews, geologists and management.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering and 5+ years of onshore drilling experience, with strong knowledge of drilling fluids, well control, rig operations, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in drilling engineering with a focus on onshore operations.
• Knowledge of drilling fluids, well control and drilling techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed drilling programs and procedures with safety/regulatory alignment.
• Supervise on-site drilling operations, guiding rig personnel and troubleshooting issues.
• Manage drilling equipment, logistics and service providers for timely operations.
• Monitor parameters, analyze performance data and optimize RP and NPT.
• Lead daily progress meetings and prepare cost/HSE reports.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health and environmental policies.
