Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Optimization Engineer for our client in Klerksdorp, North West. The role focuses on maximizing efficiency, reliability, and profitability of chemical manufacturing processes on-site.

You will analyze process data, model and simulate performance, lead debottlenecking projects, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring safety and environmental compliance in a dynamic industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering, with a significant focus on optimization and continuous improvement.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing process enhancements in an industrial setting.
• Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of process control, instrumentation, and automation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management skills, with experience in managing small to medium-sized improvement projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be willing to work full-time on-site in Klerksdorp, North West.

Responsibilities

• Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement in yield, energy consumption, and throughput.
• Develop and implement strategies for process optimization and debottlenecking.
• Design, specify, and oversee the installation of process improvements and control systems.
• Conduct advanced process modeling and simulation to predict and optimize performance.
• Lead root cause analysis for process upsets and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and management teams to achieve operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
• Train and mentor junior engineers on process optimization techniques.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies for process enhancement.
• Prepare detailed reports on process performance, optimization projects, and economic evaluations.
