Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Standerton is seeking a Security Controller to supervise on-site security, manage loss prevention processes, and oversee high-risk stock. You will investigate incidents in real time, coordinate with off-site CCTV monitoring, and ensure compliance with company policies and PSIRA regulations.

The role requires Grade 12, PSIRA registration (Grade B or A), and at least 2 years of retail security experience in a mall setting, with strong reporting and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric required.
• PSIRA Grade B or A accreditation.
• PSIRA registration required.
• Minimum 2 years’ retail security experience in shopping mall.
• Experience with CCTV monitoring, incident reporting, access control, and loss prevention.
• Knowledge of POPIA; courtroom readiness for evidence handling.

Responsibilities

• Monitor on-site security per SOPs and investigate incidents.
• Liaise with off-site CCTV monitoring centre for footage and evidence retrieval.
• Respond promptly to alerts from off-site monitoring and assist guests and staff.
• Protect assets from theft, vandalism and other risks on site.
• Supervise security guards and coordinate shift duties.
• Conduct opening/closing procedures with heightened vigilance.
• Investigate stock losses and oversee loss prevention measures.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain audit documentation.
• Coordinate with management and monitoring centre on suspicious stock movement.
• Report unusual behaviour and ensure compliance with SOPs.
