Qualifications

• PSIRA knowledge and compliance with safety standards.
• Emergency fire and health and safety training is required.
• Proficient command of English for written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Be vigilant and alert of surroundings to identify suspicious activities and apprehend criminals or remove violators according to Dis-Chem SOPs.
• Conduct regular random patrols to ensure visibility and reduce risks.
• Monitor and control access to the premises by documenting entrance for authorized individuals.
• Investigate and report signs of damage or unlawful entry to management with detailed written reports.
• Maintain deterrence through visible presence and customer/service orientation.
• Perform access control including searching staff, suppliers and merchandisers.
• Maintain registers and occurrence books; manage staff purchases and goods declarations.
• Supervise refuse removal according to Dis-Chem standards and protect assets from loss.
• Be present at your post at all times and provide courteous service to customers and staff.
• Report suspicious behaviour and unusual incidents to management and authorities as required.
• Execute opening and closing procedures and ensure doors/windows are secured daily.
• Monitor alarm systems, CCTV, and emergency equipment; respond to incidents with proper reporting.
• Assist during emergencies and coordinate with police or emergency services.
