Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies seeks a diligent security guard in Gauteng to render security services, protect assets, and maintain a safe environment for staff and customers. You will identify suspicious activity, perform patrols, monitor access, and report incidents with management.

Essentially, you will uphold Dis-Chem security standards, assist during emergencies, and ensure procedures are followed for site safety and order. Prior PSIRA Grade C and 3+ years in retail security are favored.

Qualifications

• PSIRA knowledge and awareness of security protocols.
• Fire emergency and health and safety training.
• Proficiency in English; strong communication skills.
• Grade 12 or Matric.
• PSIRA Grade C accreditation is required.

Responsibilities

• Be vigilant and identify suspicious activities and deter crime.
• Conduct regular patrols to ensure visibility and safety.
• Control access and document entry of staff and visitors.
• Investigate incidents and report to management with written details.
• Maintain registers and occurrence books during shifts.
• Provide good customer service while safeguarding staff and customers.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with police and authorities as needed.
• Ensure doors/windows are secured at end of day.
