Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies seeks a vigilant security guard to render a reliable security service in line with PSIRA regulations. You will protect assets, monitor premises, control access, and respond to incidents to maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.

You will patrol, report suspicious activity, and document events clearly. The role requires Grade 12, PSIRA Grade C accreditation, and at least three years in a retail setting; English fluency and a professional, courteous demeanor are

Qualifications

• PSIRA knowledge expected.
• Fire emergency and health & safety training.
• English fluent communication in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

• Be vigilant and alert to identify suspicious activities and apprehend violators according to Dis-Chem procedures.
• Perform regular patrols to ensure visibility and reduce risks.
• Monitor access control and regulate entry for authorized personnel only.
• Investigate and report damage or unlawful entry to management with written details.
• Maintain doors/windows lock-up, oversee alarm and CCTV systems as required.
• Provide courteous customer service and assist guests, staff and suppliers while on duty.
