Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Project Manager for a major mining enterprise in Rustenburg, North West. You will lead optimization projects, drive safety, productivity, and sustainability, collaborating with mining engineers, geologists, and operations teams on-site.

Role requires at least 6 years in mining or heavy industry, with strong leadership, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills. On-site work with accommodation and travel allowances may be provided.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of project management experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong understanding of mining processes and equipment.
• Proven ability to deliver complex projects from initiation to closure.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with project management software and tools.
• Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in mining.
• Ability to work in a challenging on-site Rustenburg environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects focused on optimizing mining operations, including efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and safety enhancements.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, scheduling, and risk assessments for mining-related initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with mine management, engineers, and operational staff to identify key areas for improvement and innovation.
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and processes within the mining environment.
• Ensure all projects adhere to strict safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies specific to the mining industry.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance to senior leadership.
• Facilitate regular project meetings, provide status updates, and ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders.
• Conduct feasibility studies and business case development for proposed optimization projects.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement proactive solutions.
