Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to manage and optimize electrical systems within mining operations in Queenstown. This on-site role focuses on reliability, safety, and efficiency of underground and surface equipment, with hands-on maintenance and leadership of a technical team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with mining experience preferred.
• Proven expertise in high voltage systems, motor control, and industrial electrical equipment.
• Strong understanding of mining electrical safety standards and regulations.
• Experience with large-scale industrial electrical systems and automation.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment in a mining environment.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for electrical machinery, including conveyors, ventilation systems, and crushing plants.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical faults promptly to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to mining operations.
• Manage electrical projects, including upgrades and new installations, from conception to completion.
• Supervise a team of electricians and technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
