Placements24 in Rustenburg seeks an experienced Industrial Electrical Engineer to support mining operations. The role is hybrid, blending on-site maintenance with remote planning and collaboration to keep electrical systems safe, efficient and reliable.

You will troubleshoot HV/LV distribution, oversee installations, perform inspections, and develop safety procedures while coordinating with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering, preferably within the mining sector.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, and switchgear.
• Familiarity with PLC programming, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced operational setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot high-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Oversee the installation, modification, and repair of industrial machinery and control systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential electrical hazards.
• Develop and implement electrical safety procedures and ensure compliance with mining regulations.
• Manage electrical spare parts inventory and vendor relationships for critical components.
• Provide technical support and training to maintenance teams and plant operators.
