Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Improvement Engineer for its George, Western Cape facility. You will analyze production lines, identify inefficiencies, and implement data-driven improvements to boost quality and throughput.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering and 4+ years in a similar setting, with Lean/Six Sigma expertise. On-site position with potential for growth and cross-functional collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in process improvement/industrial engineering in FMCG or food manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma ( Green/Black Belt preferred) and Kaizen.
• Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab) and process mapping.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production planning.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing manufacturing processes to identify optimization opportunities by speed, cost, and quality.
• Lead process improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Monitor KPIs and analyze production data to identify trends.
• Design and pilot new layouts and workflows to improve efficiency and safety.
• Train staff on new processes and ensure correct implementation.
• Identify root causes of issues and develop corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with engineering/maintenance for equipment upgrades and automation.
• Document changes, SOPs, and best practices.
• Support new product lines and manufacturing readiness.
