Placements24 in George, Western Cape, seeks a Lead Industrial Process Engineer to design, develop and implement processes that boost efficiency and scalability across product lines.

You will lead a team of engineers, oversee Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and collaborate with R&D, production and QA to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires a minimum of 6 years of experience and a Bachelor’s in Industrial or Chemical Engineering, plus strong SPC and process modeling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in industrial process engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Demonstrated expertise in process simulation, statistical process control (SPC), and process design.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles and equipment.
• Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (certification is a plus).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in process modeling software and standard engineering design tools.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Must have legal working rights in South Africa.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of industrial processes for new and existing product lines.
• Oversee process improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• Manage a team of industrial engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluation.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed process changes.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including flowcharts, P&IDs, and operational manuals.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes.
• Identify and implement technological advancements to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure all processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Monitor process performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering department.
