Qualifications

• 4+ years in process improvement/industrial engineering in FMCG or food manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma ( Green/Black Belt preferred) and Kaizen.
• Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab) and process mapping.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production planning.

Responsabilités

• Assess existing manufacturing processes to identify optimization opportunities by speed, cost, and quality.
• Lead process improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Monitor KPIs and analyze production data to identify trends.
• Design and pilot new layouts and workflows to improve efficiency and safety.
• Train staff on new processes and ensure correct implementation.
• Identify root causes of issues and develop corrective action plans.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector located in George , Western Cape , is actively searching for a dedicated Process Improvement Engineer . This role is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency and product quality within their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be instrumental in analyzing production lines, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing effective solutions to streamline operations and reduce waste. You will engage with various departments, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments of existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for optimization in terms of speed, cost, and quality.


• Develop and implement process improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools.


• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze production data to track progress and identify trends.


• Design and pilot new manufacturing layouts and workflows to enhance efficiency and safety.


• Collaborate with production teams to train staff on new processes and ensure effective implementation.


• Identify root causes of production issues and develop sustainable corrective action plans.


• Work with the engineering and maintenance teams on equipment upgrades and process automation.


• Document process changes, standard operating procedures, and best practices.


• Support the implementation of new product lines and ensure manufacturing readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.


• At least 4 years of experience in a process improvement or industrial engineering role, preferably within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.


• Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), and Kaizen methodologies.


• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and process mapping techniques.


• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production planning.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.


• Must be based in or able to commute to George , Western Cape . This is an on-site position.


• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
