Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Field Operations Engineer for the Port Elizabeth area to support oil and gas production and maintenance activities. You will work with field technicians to troubleshoot issues, ensure safety, and implement best practices to maximize asset performance and integrity.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily field operations, monitoring production and equipment, and preparing reports while ensuring compliance with HSE standards and permit-to-work systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of field operations experience in oil and gas.
• Solid understanding of production equipment, artificial lift systems, and surface facilities.
• Strong commitment to HSE standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support daily field operations, including production, maintenance, and well services.
• Monitor equipment performance and production parameters, identifying and resolving operational issues.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, permit-to-work systems, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to plan and execute equipment repairs and upgrades.
• Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures and improvement initiatives.
• Prepare daily operational reports and document key activities and findings.
