Job summary

Placements24 seeks a meticulous Facilities Engineer to oversee offshore production facilities based in Port Elizabeth. You will plan and execute preventative maintenance, troubleshoot process equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

The role requires at least 6 years in offshore facilities engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, and strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years in facilities engineering within offshore oil & gas.
• Strong knowledge of offshore process safety, mechanical integrity, and maintenance practices.
• Experience with P&IDs, equipment specifications, and maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, inspection, and repair of offshore platforms and equipment.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process equipment, utilities, and structural integrity.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company safety standards for offshore operations.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors performing work on facilities.
