Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Field Operations Technician to join our Sandton-based team. You will be responsible for daily operation and maintenance of oil and gas production facilities, monitoring equipment, routine checks, troubleshooting minor issues, and ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of all production assets.

In this role you will collaborate with production engineers and field personnel to maintain optimal production levels and asset integrity, while adhering to HSE

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in a relevant field is advantageous.
• Proven experience as a Field Operations Technician or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
• Basic understanding of oil and gas production processes and equipment.
• Knowledge of HSE procedures and safe work practices in a field environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on production equipment, including pumps, valves, and separators.
• Monitor production processes and parameters, ensuring they operate within specified limits.
• Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, performing minor repairs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
• Accurately record operational data, production volumes, and maintenance activities.
• Respond to operational emergencies and assist in the implementation of corrective actions.
