Placements24 seeks a Process Design Engineer for on-site Durban to conceptualize, design and optimize industrial processes. You will develop robust, safe, and cost-effective flow schemes, select suitable technologies and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong theory and hands-on experience, with collaboration across mechanical, electrical and controls teams to bring new processes to life in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in process design in an industrial setting.
• Proven ability to develop PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specs.
• Experience with process simulation software and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs and engineering specs for new and modified processes.
• Perform process simulations to optimize performance and costs.
• Specify equipment, materials and control systems for processes.
• Create PFDs, P&IDs, BOMs and datasheets.
