Placements24 is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Bloemfontein team. You will design and manage CI/CD pipelines, automate cloud infrastructure with IaC tools, and optimize AWS/Azure/GCP environments for reliability and security.

You will implement containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, develop automation scripts, and collaborate closely with development and QA to accelerate release cycles while upholding security best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering.
• 3+ years in a DevOps or Systems Engineer role.
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
• Automate cloud infrastructure management using IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Monitor performance, availability, and security, implementing proactive measures.
• Manage and optimize cloud environments for cost-efficiency and scalability.
• Implement and maintain containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop scripts to automate repetitive tasks and operational processes.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth release cycles.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps trends and technologies.
