Placements24 is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer in Vereeniging, Gauteng, to optimize CI/CD pipelines and automate the software delivery lifecycle. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in a DevOps or Systems Engineering role.
• Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• Experience in Gauteng is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
• Manage and provision cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code principles and tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
• Develop and manage containerization strategies using Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployment of applications.
• Implement and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of security best practices within the DevOps workflow.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing between development and operations teams.
