Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a rapidly expanding SaaS company, seeks a motivated DevOps Engineer to join their Vereeniging, Gauteng team. You will build, automate, and optimize infrastructure and deployment pipelines to support cutting-edge software solutions.

The role focuses on cloud environments, automation tools, and CI/CD practices. You will collaborate with development and operations to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency, and participate in on-call incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in a DevOps or related role.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Scripting (Bash/Python).
• Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for builds, tests, and deployments.
• Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure ensuring high availability and performance.
• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform/Ansible.
• Implement and manage containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automate operations to improve efficiency.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement fixes.
• Maintain robust security across infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve infra issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation for incident response.
• Stay updated with DevOps trends and technologies.
