Placements24 in Vereeniging, Gauteng, invites an experienced DevOps Engineer to bridge development and IT operations. The role focuses on deploying, managing, and scaling infrastructure and applications across cloud environments in a hybrid work setup.

You will build CI/CD pipelines, automate tasks, and implement IaC and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, while aligning security practices and performance monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in DevOps, systems administration, or software with a DevOps focus.
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Hands-on with configuration management and IaC (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef).
• Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
• Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, deployment.
• Administer and optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform or Ansible.
• Implement and manage Docker and Kubernetes for containerization.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, ensure high availability.
• Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with dev and ops teams to troubleshoot issues.
• Apply security best practices across the infrastructure.
• Stay current with emerging DevOps tools and technologies.
