Placements24 seeks a meticulous Production Chemist to join its Rustenburg operations in the oil and gas sector. The role focuses on chemical analysis, process monitoring, and optimizing production through rigorous testing of crude oil, natural gas, and refined products.

On-site, you will manage chemical treatment programs, ensure environmental compliance, and maintain detailed records while supporting safety and efficiency across production facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Production Chemist or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques such as GC, spectroscopy, titration, and wet chemistry methods.
• Understanding of oil and gas production processes and the role of production chemicals.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations relevant to the chemical industry.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical analysis of crude oil, natural gas, and water samples to determine composition and quality parameters.
• Monitor and adjust chemical injection rates for processes such as demulsification, corrosion inhibition, and scale control.
• Analyze the effectiveness of production chemicals and recommend adjustments to optimize performance and minimize costs.
• Perform quality control checks on produced products to ensure they meet specifications and industry standards.
• Maintain detailed records of all analyses, chemical usage, and process observations.
• Troubleshoot chemical-related production issues and provide timely solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
