About the Role

Our client requires a dedicated Production Engineer to optimize oil and gas extraction processes for their operations near Rustenburg . This role focuses on maximizing production rates, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the integrity of production facilities. You will be responsible for analyzing well performance, implementing artificial lift systems, and troubleshooting production issues to enhance hydrocarbon recovery. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operational success of the company within the demanding North West province , contributing to strategic decisions that drive profitability and sustainability in the Oil & Gas industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze well performance , production data, and facility uptime to identify optimization opportunities.
• Design, implement, and manage artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift) to improve production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production-related problems, including wellbore issues, equipment failures, and flow assurance challenges.
• Develop and execute workover and intervention programs to enhance or restore production.
• Conduct economic evaluations for production enhancement projects and capital expenditure proposals.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations pertinent to production operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in production engineering within the upstream Oil & Gas sector.
• Strong understanding of surface and subsurface production systems, including multiphase flow.
• Proficiency in production optimization software and techniques.
• Experience with well testing, fluid sampling, and laboratory analysis.
• Knowledge of asset integrity management and maintenance strategies in the Rustenburg operational area.
