Placements24 in Paarl is seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to monitor a large telecommunications network, identify incidents, and ensure service availability in a 24/7 operation.

You will respond to alerts, document events in the ticketing system, and coordinate with engineering teams to resolve issues. Proficiency with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and a solid grasp of TCP/IP and DNS are valued. Willingness to work shifts is essential.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a NOC environment or as a network support technician within the telecoms industry.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends, in a 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

Monitor network performance and availability using NOC tools and systems.
Identify, diagnose, and escalate network incidents and outages according to procedures.
Respond to alerts and events, initiating troubleshooting steps and coordinating with relevant teams for resolution.
Document network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
Perform regular system checks and basic maintenance tasks to ensure network health.
