About the Role

Our client, a well-regarded hotel in Soweto, Gauteng, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Night Auditor & Front Desk Supervisor. This crucial role is responsible for managing overnight hotel operations, including check-ins, check-outs, guest services, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a strong understanding of front desk procedures, and the ability to work independently during the night shift. This position is vital for ensuring a smooth and secure overnight experience for guests in Soweto.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Manage guest accounts, process payments, and balance cash and credit card transactions.
• Prepare daily financial reports, including P&L summaries and audit reports.
• Handle guest inquiries, requests, and resolve issues that arise during the night shift.
• Ensure the security of the hotel premises and guests overnight.
• Provide exceptional customer service to guests throughout their stay.
• Assist with guest services, such as providing local information and making recommendations.
• Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with relevant personnel.
• Oversee and supervise any front desk staff working the night shift.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Night Auditor or in a Front Desk role, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of front desk operations and hotel management systems (PMS).
• Excellent cash handling and accounting skills.
• Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and remain alert during overnight shifts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for reporting.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality certification is a plus.
