Zohorecruit is seeking a network support professional to provide on-site assistance in Worcester, South Africa. You will enable remote troubleshooting, perform console connections, and support physical access tasks for network devices.

Prior hands-on enterprise network experience and willingness to travel are required. The role involves rack mounting, basic configuration under instruction, cabling discipline, and collaboration with remote teams to verify post-install checks.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in a related field is preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers and firewalls.
• Experience with console connections and network device installation.
• Familiarity with structured cabling and patch panels.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work within documented procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with remote teams.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations.
• Possession of Working at Heights and Medical Fitness Certificates.

Responsabilidades

• Provide physical onsite assistance to enable remote troubleshooting and remediation.
• Connect to network devices via console as directed by Remote Support Team.
• Provide physical access support (rack access, locating devices/ports, power cycling).
• Conduct visual verification and reporting of LEDs, link status, alarms, fans, power, and cabling.
• Identify network equipment types, ports, power supplies, uplinks, and patch panel layouts.
• Follow remote instructions precisely and stay within approved steps.
• Mount/unmount network devices on racks per site rules and safety practices.
• Coordinate with Remote Support Team for post-install verification.
• Perform basic configuration steps only when instructed and approved.
• Ensure proper cable management and labeling during installations.

Responsibilities

• Physical onsite assistance to enable remote troubleshooting and remediation.
• Console connectivity to network devices (switch/router/firewall) as instructed by the Remote Support Team.
• Providing physical access support to the Remote Support Team (e.g., opening racks, locating devices/ports, power cycling per instruction).
• Visual verification and reporting (LED status, link status, alarms, fan/power status, cabling condition).

Network Hands & Feet

• Identify network equipment types, ports, power supplies, up links, and patch panel layouts.
• Follow remote instructions accurately (step-by-step) without deviating from approved.
• Perform basic checks: link lights, port mapping verification, cable reseat, label verification.

Network Device Rack & Stack

• Rack mounting/unmounting of network devices per site rules and safety practices.
• Patch and dress cables to basic professional standard (as instructed).
• Coordinate with Remote Support Team for post-install verification.

Basic Configuration

• Connecting console and granting remote access session (screen share/terminal access where applicable).
• Executing clearly provided command steps (copy/paste) when approved.
• Applying basic baseline actions (e.g., set management IP/VLAN) only when explicitly instructed and approved.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Experience with console connections and network device installation.
• Familiarity with structured cabling and patch panels.
• Ability to follow technical instructions accurately and work within documented procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with remote technical teams.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations when required.
• Working at Heights Training Certificate.
• Medical Fitness Certificate.

Required Tools

• 16 Gb Usb drives with FAT32 compatibility, console cables and good internet connectivity modem
• Good internet connection
• Laptop (with console software like PuTTY) and proper console drivers
• Pen drive Minimum: 4 to 8GB without any data (May be required to format)
• Multimeter (to check power output if needed)
• Laptop - MS Teams, Zoom, Putty ,Webex
• 4G Connection Dongle
• Basic Screwdriver Kit
• PPE Kits.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
• Experience supporting Cisco, Juniper, HPE/Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar networking equipment.
• Experience working in data centers or enterprise network environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems.
