Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a proactive Network Engineer in Johannesburg to monitor and manage client networks, ensuring high availability and performance. You will investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and contribute to remediation efforts while following change management processes.

The role requires solid networking fundamentals, experience with Cisco/Aruba/Meraki environments, and familiarity with monitoring and ticketing tools.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in IT or related field.
• CCNA Enterprise or equivalent qualification.
• Solid networking fundamentals and security best practices.
• Experience with monitoring, incident response, and ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor client network infrastructure for availability and performance.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve Level 1 incidents within SLAs.
• Escalate incidents and risks to appropriate teams as needed.
• Perform root cause analysis and contribute to prevention initiatives.
• Provide telephonic, chat, and ticket-based support.
• Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes.
• Troubleshoot WAN/LAN/SD-WAN connectivity and security controls.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams and standards.
• Participate in network deployments and project activities.
