Job summary

Durban IT Services is seeking an experienced Service Desk Engineer to join their team in Durban. The role focuses on providing remote technical support across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, cloud, networking and endpoint environments, with occasional on-site visits to client sites as required.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12.
• 3–5 years’ relevant IT support or systems administration experience, ideally within an MSP environment.
• Current Microsoft 365 certification.
• CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking certification.
• Solid hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Windows Server and network troubleshooting.
• Good problem-solving, communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and own ability to travel to client sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system and connectivity issues
• Administer and support Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
• Manage user accounts, permissions, security settings and access-related issues
• Support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, virtualisation and backup solutions
• Diagnose and resolve network, firewall, wireless, VPN and connectivity problems
• Manage service desk tickets, incidents and escalations through to resolution
• Monitor and maintain client systems, servers and endpoints, including updates, security and routine maintenance
• Assist with IT upgrades, installations, migrations and infrastructure projects
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and keep clients informed throughout the support process
