Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Motor Vehicle Claims Specialist to join their team in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will assess and settle motor vehicle insurance claims, verify policy details, and manage repairers to ensure quality workmanship and cost-efficiency.

The role requires at least 3 years of relevant claims experience, strong knowledge of motor vehicle components and repair processes, and excellent communication with policyholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in motor vehicle claims assessment or administration.
• Sound knowledge of motor vehicle components, repair processes, and industry costings.
• Familiarity with common insurance policy wordings for motor vehicles.
• Strong investigative and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in utilizing claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Receive, register, and assess motor vehicle insurance claims promptly and accurately.
• Verify policy details, coverage limits, and claim validity against policy terms.
• Conduct detailed assessments of vehicle damage, including photographic evidence and repair quotations.
• Appoint and manage approved repairers and service providers, ensuring quality workmanship and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate fair settlement amounts with policyholders and third parties.
• Process payments and ensure all claim documentation is complete and filed correctly.
• Communicate effectively with policyholders, explaining the claims process and providing regular updates.
• Identify and report any suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements and internal claims handling procedures.
• Contribute to team goals and assist colleagues as needed within the Tembisa branch.
