Job summary

Smart Talent is seeking an LMS Administrator & Technical Support Officer to manage the Moodle LMS, assist students and lecturers, and support the registrar with SIS tasks. The role includes platform monitoring, back-ups, user management, training, and documentation.

You will collaborate with the CELI team across the university, handle tickets with prompt responses, and contribute to course configuration and QA checks. Hybrid work in Johannesburg.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years hands-on Moodle administration.
• Experience with first-line IT support and helpdesk ticket management.
• Solid knowledge of user management, role-based access, and course configuration.
• Experience in higher education is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• LMS Administration: configure Moodle, manage users, courses, enrolments, roles, and settings.
• Student Technical Support: assist with login issues, submissions, browser compatibility, and navigation.
• Lecturer & Academic Staff Support: onboard lecturers, train on Moodle features, troubleshoot live class issues.
• SIS Technical Assistance: support registrar with data exports, integrations, and access management.
• Platform Monitoring & Reporting: monitor uptime, generate usage reports, escalate infrastructure issues.
• Quality Assurance: perform pre-semester checks, ensure content correctness and functional links.
• Documentation: create user guides, FAQs, and SOPs for students and staff.
