Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Mobile Kitchen Operations Specialist to oversee and maintain our mobile catering fleet around the Upington region. You will manage setup, service, breakdown, and support the culinary team to ensure food safety and high-quality service.

This hands-on role requires strong operational experience, the ability to drive mobile units, keep equipment in top condition, and coordinate logistics for events across the Northern Cape.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service operations, especially mobile catering or high-volume settings.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to drive mobile units if required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of mobile kitchen units, including setup, service, and breakdown.
• Ensure all mobile units are clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels for ingredients and supplies across the mobile fleet.
• Assist chefs in food preparation and cooking as needed, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Uphold strict health, safety, and sanitation regulations within mobile kitchen environments.
• Troubleshoot operational issues that arise with the mobile units or during service.
• Coordinate logistics for mobile unit deployment to various event locations.
