Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a resourceful Mobile Catering Unit Manager to oversee the Queenstown-based mobile catering operation in the Eastern Cape. This hands-on role covers food preparation, service, sales, and unit maintenance, with responsibility for menu planning and customer service from a mobile platform.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years in food service management or catering operations.
Experience with mobile or remote catering operations is preferred.
Strong understanding of health and safety standards for food operations.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the mobile catering unit (food prep, service, sales).
Plan menus considering mobile kitchen constraints and efficiency.
Manage inventory, stock ordering and cost control to maximise profitability.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations.
Lead a small team, provide training and deliver excellent customer service.
Maintain the mobile unit and equipment, including routine upkeep.
