Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking a seasoned environmental engineer to design, review, and integrate ventilation and environmental control systems across operations in the region. The role focuses on regulatory compliance, zero-harm safety objectives, and sustainable practices within a major mining environment.

You will lead a team, drive performance, and coordinate with stakeholders to implement environmental strategies that align with corporate governance and cost-efficiency targets.

Qualifications

• NQF 6/7 qualification will be advantageous.
• Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (MEC).

Responsibilities

• People Management: Recruitment.
• Design the specific discipline structure to support the achievement of the organisational mandate.
• Assist with environmental engineering labour plans around operational targets. Performance Management: Providing leadership and inspire team members towards high performance.
• Managing performance and development of reporting staff.
• SHE Compliance: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of environmental engineering systems and adherence to SHE standards.

Education

NQF 6 (Diploma or Advanced Certificate) or NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) relevant qualification will be advantageous.
