Placements24 is seeking a highly specialized Mining Engineer (Ventilation) for major operations in Rustenburg. You will design, implement and monitor ventilation networks to ensure safe working conditions underground.

The role requires strong analytical skills, extensive experience, and proficiency with Ventsim and VentGraph, plus gas detection and environmental monitoring. You will drive energy-efficient solutions and contribute to safety, productivity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering with ventilation specialization.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering.
• Proficient with gas detection systems and environmental monitoring equipment.
• Experience with ventilation simulation software (Ventsim, VentGraph).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage mine ventilation systems, including fan selection and network analysis.
• Monitor underground air quality, temperature, and humidity levels.
• Develop strategies to control dust, fumes and airborne contaminants.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Optimize ventilation performance for energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
