Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mining Sector Driver based in Upington to operate specialised vehicles transporting personnel, tools and materials to mine sites across the rugged Northern Cape.

You will perform pre-operation checks, follow safety protocols and logs, and support basic vehicle maintenance. A Code 10 with PDP, plus 3 years' mining or off-road driving experience, is required. The role offers a competitive monthly salary and opportunities for training and career development.

Qualifications

• Code 10 driver's license with PDP.
• Minimum 3 years driving experience, mining or off-road preferred.
• Ability to operate vehicles safely in rough terrain and varying weather.
• Knowledge of mine site safety procedures.
• Excellent navigational skills and familiarity with Northern Cape region.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate specific vehicles safely and efficiently on mine sites and access roads.
• Transport personnel, tools, equipment, and supplies to designated locations per schedule.
• Conduct thorough pre-operation checks on all vehicles.
• Adhere to safety regulations, site rules, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
• Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
