Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Mining Engineer to lead daily mine operations at the George site. You will oversee drilling, blasting, material handling, and safety compliance while guiding a diverse team of mining professionals.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mining Engineering with at least 7 years in mine operations (3 in leadership), knowledge of open-pit or underground methods, and proficiency with mine planning and production monitoring tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
7+ years in mine operations; at least 3 in a supervisory/lead role.
Strong knowledge of open-pit or underground mining methods.
Proficient with mine planning software and production monitoring tools.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and supervise daily mining operations (drilling, blasting, material handling).
Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies.
Monitor performance, identify improvements, implement corrective actions.
Manage allocation and utilization of mining equipment and resources.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the operations team.
Ensure compliance with mining regulations and best practices.
