Job summary

Network Finance is seeking an experienced Business Development Engineer to drive opportunities in Africa's mining sector. You will develop client relationships, identify projects, and deliver technically sound, commercially viable capital equipment solutions.

You will engage with mine management, EPC contractors, and engineering teams, supporting proposals and negotiations while traveling locally and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum BEng in Mechanical, Mining, or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3–8 years' experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial equipment.
• Proven experience closing capital equipment opportunities and lifecycle costing.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the mining sector across Africa.
• Build and maintain relationships with mine management, consulting engineers, EPC contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Identify greenfield, brownfield, expansion, and replacement projects.
• Develop and manage a qualified sales pipeline with regular opportunity reporting.
• Influence project specifications through early technical engagement.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for capital equipment projects.
• Present lifecycle cost analyses and demonstrate long-term customer value.
• Support contract negotiations by defending technical proposals and assumptions.
• Deliver technical presentations to engineering, operations, and procurement teams.
• Conduct customer site visits and technical assessments.
• Ensure smooth project handovers from sales to project execution teams.
