About the Role

Our client, a specialized recruitment consultancy with a strong focus on the natural resources sector, is seeking an experienced Mining and Minerals Recruitment Consultant to join their team in Upington, Northern Cape . This vital role involves sourcing and placing skilled professionals and executives across all facets of the mining lifecycle, from exploration and geological services to mining operations, processing, and mine closure. You will be essential in connecting mining companies with the technical expertise required to drive efficiency, safety, and innovation in this critical industry. The position is based on-site in Upington , placing you at the heart of a significant mining region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with mining companies and related organizations in the Northern Cape and beyond.
• Source, screen, and interview candidates for a wide range of roles, including Geologists, Mining Engineers, Surveyors, Metallurgists, Operations Managers, and HSE professionals.
• Conduct thorough candidate assessments to evaluate technical competencies, operational experience, and safety awareness.
• Manage the full recruitment process, ensuring a high level of service and efficiency for clients and candidates.
• Stay informed about industry trends, new mining technologies, safety regulations, and market demands.
• Build and manage a robust talent pool of skilled professionals within the mining and minerals sector.
• Provide expert market intelligence and recruitment advice to clients.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant mining industry regulations and best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in recruitment, with a specialization or significant understanding of the mining and minerals industry.
• Demonstrated ability to source and place candidates for technical, operational, and management roles within mining environments.
• Strong understanding of the mining lifecycle, geological principles, and operational processes.
• Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements in mining is highly desirable.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with recruitment software and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
• Ability to build rapport and trust with clients and candidates in remote and challenging operational settings.
• A results-oriented mindset and a passion for contributing to the success of the mining sector.
• Relevant degree or qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, or Human Resources is preferred.
